So, I just thought all us DC fans would be interested in the AWESOME rides at Six Flags Great America that I saw/rode today. The rides' themes are actually REALLY awesome.
FIRST UP: Superman -- This ride is made so that you're practically lying down, meant to seem like you're flying. It's a blast. All through the line, it features posters describing Superman's abilities, and giant displays featuring the Superman heroes and villains. Unfortunately, with the speed of the line, I could only get a picture of Supergirl's.
Oh, and here it is from a distance. (The parking lot, actually. With my effing lovely finger in the screen. Smexy finger, huh?)
THE DARK KNIGHT -- This ride is an AWFUL ride, and I don't have any pictures of the actual thing because it's indoors, and in the dark. (Haha. Dark Knight. I get it. LAME.) But the theme of the ride is REALLY cool. While you're in line, it's all supposed to look like you're in the Gotham Subway, waiting for trains. It's indoors, too, so you REALLY feel like you're in Gotham, or something. It's super cool. But like before, dying battery and moving line didn't let me get too many pictures. And the ones I DID get came out really crappy.
BATMAN -- This is one of my favourite rides of the park. The scenery for the line is AWESOME. Just looking at the ride and the line, you see a beautiful park, well-kept, with GOTHAM CITY and other inspirational things on the wall. It's actually rather nice. But continue through the line to the OTHER side of the wall, and you see the REAL Gotham. Smoggy, dirty, crime-ridden, graffiti--everything Gotham DOESN'T want to advertise. It's really cool. And then you continue the line through a giant sewer pipe, and head into 'The Batcave', where an emergency evacuation is necessary, and so your ride is supposed to be like soaring through Gotham in an escape. Oh. And one of the Batmobiles is across from the ride.
